Fixing a bent backbone
We do repairs to machines that have been dropped or abused. Usually it is a bent backbone that can be straightened. We made this video to show the process so if you have a capable person or a machine shop, time and money can be saved doing the work yourself.
Before the Straightline 1000 leaves our shop to be shipped to the customer it goes thru a rigorous quality control inspection. Parts are checked three times, once at each stage of production. Raw parts, welded parts and plated parts are checked for proper tolerance. Once they have passed inspection they are assembled and the completed tool is checked again for square and smooth operation. The final inspection is then done, the roll test. The machine is pushed to roll about 15 feet on its own to ensure it rolls straight. A part out of tolerance will show up immediately by the tool swerving off the straight line.
